The Stove that is Starvation

Complacency is bad soil.

From it, nothing green grows.

In complacency, you are just a consumer of your every desire, even those petty and miniscule ones; with you, everything you want, must happen; you neglect the basics, and leave your soil unattended because you are busy eating the fruit. Tomorrow you wake up and there is no tree. Oops, you did not water it, you just ate the fruits without further consideration.

Even the greatest and strongest empires fell at the hands of complacency.

One by one they all degrade once they become complacent.

But starvation on the other hand,

You are forced to go deeper within yourself to find solutions, and this is asked of you in a very fast pace (due to the many demands of “modern” society).

If during these times of starvation, you are steady, relaxed, and focused, then you might be able to find gold in the unexpected, and dark places your starvation will make you travel.

This starvation is not there to kill us, it is there to highlight a question, it is there to ask us: what are we willing to do, so that we are the full expressions of ourselves?

Think of the diminishing level of hope in the people who were following Moses after being freed from slavery in Egypt. Just think of them in the 39th year post their slavery. Where was this promised land that Moses was speaking of? Moses must be commended for keeping everyone focused on the end goal.

It seems like we are in those times of Moses: free, but not in the promised land; loitering around aimlessly, yet seeking the ever elusive promised land.

It was only after toiling for 40 years that they reached the promised land. They were relieved and their promised land search tension got released from their bodies.

During that time of search, there is no doubt that they went deeper within themselves while they were going towards this promised land which was just not being found.

Even in the starvation of the promised land in your life, the signs of the promised land will be there.

Your DNA knows its promised land very well.

As you get educated about yourself, your will automatically know the signs of your promised land.

Gradually, you will become strong enough to follow the signs even in the most dire circumstances.
